This session provides participants with the opportunity to explore diverse approaches in mentoring and the range of roles a mentor can consider to engage and support the diverse needs of mentees. Providing an in-depth case study of entrepreneurship volunteer business mentoring in two contrasting countries, India & Russia, diversity of geography, the educational background, work experience, and the socio-economic environment of the mentees are provided as backdrop to explore the diverse approaches in mentoring. The diverse macro-culture of the contrasting countries are considered within the context of mentoring thus enabling participants to consider how they can incorporate diversity and inclusion within their practice including skills and approaches to enhance their practice.

Bio

Dr Chandana Sanyal is a Senior Lecturer of Human Resource Management and Development at Middlesex University Business School (UK), a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Higher Education Academy. Chandana is a coach-mentor and holds an Advanced Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring from CIPD. She is a EMCC UK Executive Board joint Professional Development Director and EMCC Global WorkGroup leader for European Individual Accreditation (EIA).  She is EMCC accredited at Practitioner level.

Dr Julie Haddock-Millar is an Associate Professor of HRM at Middlesex University Business School (UK), Visiting Professor at the International University of Monaco, EMCC UK Executive Board joint Professional Development Director, and EMCC Global WorkGroup leader for the International Standards in Mentoring and Coaching Programmes (ISMCP) for EMCC. She is EMCC accredited at Senior Practitioner level.
